Santa Tereza is a hypster residential neighbourhood with a relaxed atmosphere. Nevertheless the neighbourhood is relatively violent do to its proximity to the favelas. To avoid incidents follow these recommendations:

1. Avoid carrying and showing valuable objects.
2. Pay attention while walking on the streets during the day and evenings.
3. In case of assault do not react or interact with the burglar.
